Gregory J. Kumpula,
P.E.
Project Engineer
Gregory Kumpula is an electrical engineer with
experience in the design and implementation of
instrumentation and control systems. He has extensive
experience in computer programming and software
development. Mr. Kumpula wrote the software program
that resides on the laptop computer used in the
dye-dilution testing of sewage flow meters. The laptop
is connected to the fluorometer and spectrophotometer
during the dye-dilution tests. The program logs the
realtime florescence, absorbance, temperature and
injection flow rate data during the tests. At the
conclusion of the field tests, the laptop is taken to
the lab so that standard fluorescence versus dye
concentration relationships can be developed. The
program performs the necessary calculations to estimate
flow rate. The program also prepares a report for the
tests than can be printed.
Mr.
Kumpula has aided in the oversight of a large
instrumentation and control contract. Mr. Kumpula also
has experience in the development of the computer
modeling program, Transient Analysis Program (TAP), as
well as various other support programs.
